100 Pageviews Blog Tag

Noor tagged me for the 100 Pageviews Tag (thank you!) so without further ado, here it is..

+ Thank the blogger who tagged you. (I did that above.)

+ Answer the 10 questions below:

Q: How many page views have you had (you can round this to nearest 100)?
A: I have 1103 pageviews exactly, and 1100 pageviews when rounded. I know it's not a lot, but I'm working on that. :)

Q: How did you feel when you hit 100 page views?
A: Just like Noor, I don't remember when that was. (It was so long ago, and my memory has betrayed me!)

Q: Who was your first commenter (that you didn't know)?
A: My first comment was from MorningTime4 from The Ups and Downs of my Not-So-Average Life! It was pretty exciting to see a comment from her.

Q: What blog post of yours has had the most views?
A: My entry to Emily's contest and my social media icon tutorial post are the 2 most popular so far, both with 21 pageviews.

Q: What traffic source has given you the most views?
A: Of course, it's Blogs By Kids. The site brought me a total of 139 pageviews!

Q: Why did you start your blog?
A: I wanted to be able to firmly shake my college interviewer's hand, look them in the eye confidently, and proudly say, "Squishingly is the biggest collection of my best work. Take a look, you might be very impressed." I always wanted to be able to have a portfolio that I can look back on any day I wanted, so it inspired me to start Squishingly.

Q: What are your favourite 3-10 blogs?
A: Here they are, in no particular order-

Q: What type of the blog do you like the most?
A: Here are my personal favorites-

+ Craft Blog
+ Design Blog
+ Directory Blog (like BBK)
+ Technology Blog
+ Gaming Blog
+ Geek/Nerd Blog
+ Humorous Blog
+ GIF Blog

Q: Who inspired you to start your blog? Could be a friend, family member or another blogger?
A: I always loved blogging, but I had no idea what to blog about. When I stumbled upon Chloe's blog, she gave me the inspiration to start Squishingly and blog about the thing I love most- technology! (So thank you, Chloe!)

Q: What do you enjoy most about blogging?
A: I love sharing my thoughts, ideas, and creativity with people that I can relate to!

20 Things You Might Not Know About Me Blog Tag

I'd like to send out a big thank you to June from A Curious Pisces for tagging me! Let's begin with the rules (that apply to me)..

+ Copy and paste the questions below, then answer and turn them into a blog post.

+ At the bottom of your post, tag anywhere from 2-10 bloggers you want to see answer these questions.

+ Use the title: 20 Things You Might Not Know About Me Blog Tag.

And here are my answers to the 20 Questions..

Q1: How tall are you?
A: I'm 5'1 or 5'2 I think..

Q2: Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what?
I have a knack for scrapbooking, but I don't share that with people. I also like writing, although I'm not good at it. I don't share these things with people, so consider yourself lucky..

Q3: What’s your biggest blog-related pet peeve?
I don't like when people show things off about how much better their life is than anyone else's- talk about rude!

Q4: What’s your biggest non-blog related pet peeve?
I really don't like when people act superior, but don't live up to what they claim.

Q5: What’s your favorite song?
I love, love, love Edge of Night by Billy Boyd.

Q6: What’s your favorite Etsy shop that isn't yours?
A: I'm in love with YYKawaii's products.. [click.] I'm secretly a fan of cute things.

Q7: What’s your favorite way to spend your free time when you're alone?
I like blogging, designing, coding, drawing, or anything creative.

Q8: What’s your
favorite junk food?

 I love anything sweet!

Q9: Do you have a pet or pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?
I have two Pomeranian-Chihuahua mixes. Their names are Zack and Cody (hehe) and this is what they look like-

Q10: What are your number one favorite nonfiction and fiction books?
I'm not that big of a reader (much to your dismay) so my favorite nonfiction book has to be Bulu by Dick Houston and my favorite fiction book is 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher.

Pictures via. and via.

Q11: What’s your favorite beauty product?
 I don't wear any makeup.

Q12: When were you last embarrassed? What happened?
I'd rather not share that, but here goes..

BRRRRRING. I have 5 minutes to get to class, but my stupid locker won't open! I kick it a few times, trying to see if my anger will open it. People rush to class, and I'm left alone in the hallway. All of a sudden, a classmate walks by and whispers to me, "You can do it!" in a teasing tone. I roll my eyes and hurry to open my locker, when it finally opens. When I get to class, I have to explain in front of the whole class why I'm late. Yes, I had locker trouble after over a month of school.

Q13: If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Oo, hot chocolate sounds nice. But, that's for winter only. I'd have to say Coke. Not because I like it that much, but because it's scientifically proven that the flavor never gets old.

Q14: What’s your favorite movie?
I AM IN LOVE WITH THE LORD OF THE RINGS AND STAR WARS SERIES. They're so perfect, I may just up and cry. (I would've added more pictures, but I got lazy. Sorry.)

Q15: What were you in high school: prom queen, nerd, cheerleader, jock, valedictorian, band geek, loner, artist, prep?
I'm about 2 years from high-school, so I would be a mix of the following-

Artistic yet intelligent valedictorian who spends a large amount of her free time alone at a computer. (Artist, loner, valedictorian, & nerd)
Q16: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
I want to live in New Zealand! Here's why-

• Lowest crime-rates in the world
The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings movies were filmed there
• It's beautiful, and peaceful
• Free hospital system
• Richest people in the world

Q17: PC or Mac?
I like both, to be honest. The Mac is a beautiful, sleek, and relatively fast operating system. Although, it can't handle my favorite video games. That's why I turn to the PC! It's usually fast for the first couple of years, but I manage to slow it down with the many games I download. I don't like the style of PC's, but they can run a lot of video games.

Q18: Last romantic gesture from a crush, date, boy/girlfriend, spouse?
None. First, people don't like me. Haha. Second, I'm not interested in romance. My laptop is all I need..

Q19: Favorite celebrity?
 I love..
Tom Hiddleston (via.)
Tom plays Loki (via.)
Natalie Portman (via.)
Natalie plays Padme Amidala (via.)
Scarlett Johansson (via.)
Scarlett plays the Black Widow (via.)
Orlando Bloom (via.)
Orlando plays Legolas (via.)
Orlando also plays Will Turner (via.)
Q20: What blogger do you secretly want be best friends with?
A: Hmm. I don't actually want to be best friends with anyone but the people I know in real life. If one of my real best friends could be a blogger, I would love that!

Lynde Avenue's Black & White Photography/Writing Contest

✓ Submit an original black-and-white photograph. It can be of anything you like; there are no guidelines or categories.

✓ Also submit a piece of work telling me what story your photograph is telling you. It can be a poem, short story, chapter, vignette, or even a simple sentence.

✓ Please keep both pieces of work clean and appropriate.

✓ You can publish your entry as a post on your blog or email it to me, whichever you're more comfortable with! Just be sure to leave a link on *this post* to your entry if it's on your blog. (Click here to check it out!)

✓ I'm not expecting that many entries as of now, so there will be a first and second place only. But things may change as the contest gets going!

Your button on my sidebar for a month, and then moved permanently onto my Button Exchanges page.

ⓧ You can write a guest post for my blog if you wish.

I will also interview you for my blog if you wish.
Your entry will be published here on Lynde Avenue.
You'll get a mention on social media, as well as a Bloglovin' and Twitter follow from me!

Here we go..

The rain beats my window like a drum, at a fast and steady rhythm. I sigh as I gaze down at my hand, noticing a band-aid gripping my ring finger as if it were going to fall at any moment.

I didn't cut myself, but I put the band-aid there as a symbol.

Long ago, the Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians all believed that a vein ran from your ring finger to your heart. And because a circle never ended, they used a gold band to represent everlasting love. They put that gold band on the third finger of the left hand, to symbolise a couple's prosperity.

But I put there in place of a gold band, a band-aid. Because a band-aid, my friend, is used to keep germs and infectious things out of an open wound. So no matter how tough I may seem on the outside, I will never heal from the emotional cut of my past.

So, I'm not really good at writing. But I thought I'd give this contest a shot anyway. Hope you like it, and I hope I win! Thanks, Emily!

Answering Emily's Questions

Q: Were your born closer to the summer or winter?
A: I was born closer to the winter. (October)

Q: Do you know how to ice skate?
A: I couldn't ice skate to save my life!

Q: Cute sandals or a casual pair of flip flops?
A: Flip flops! I'm not a formal person, so I prefer anything casual.

Q: Leggings or jeans, in the fall?
A: Jeans on the street, leggings in the sheets. I don't like wearing leggings in public, so I walk around in them at home.

Q: T-shirt and cardigan, or a simple long-sleeved shirt?
A: T-shirt and cardigan, of course! I like to be able to take off the cardigan whenever I get hot. (Because that happens often, no matter what season it is.)

Q: Do you have a super top-secret hot cocoa recipe that you would like to share? ;)
A: I have one, but I don't know where the paper I wrote it down on is.. sorry!

Q: Do you celebrate any holidays in the summer?
A: Summer is a holiday to me! 3 months off of school, what's not to celebrate?

Q: Did you travel much?
A: Nope.. I went to a few summer camps but I stayed home most of my summer. (Do I sound like a stick in the mud?)

Q: What is the most beautiful photograph you took this summer?
A: I took a lot of great ones, but my personal favorite is this one-

I took this in June.

Q: Favorite pumpkin recipe?
A: I don't make anything with pumpkin, my Grandma does.

My Questions

1. What are you planning to do next summer?
2. What's your favorite summertime beverage?
3. What are you looking forward to most next summer?
4. What kind of music would you listen to while sipping hot cocoa by the fireside?
5. Reflecting on what you did last summer, what are you going to change for next summer?
6. What do you love most about blogging?
7. Do you do anything special on your blog depending on the season?
8. What's your favorite seasonal dessert?
9. Who is your biggest inspiration, and have they affected the way you spend your summer/fall?
10. Why, in your opinion, do you think people around the world love [insert season here, pick one only]?

Where I See Myself In 10 Years

I've improved a lot in everything I've done, and I want to show you all my goals for the next 10 years. Whether it's with graphic design, mental health, or grades, I want to keep myself at the top. So, here's a little visualization of how I see myself in 10 years.

Photoshop Skills

Michael Oswald is my role model and true inspiration when it comes to Adobe. His vision and detail motivates me and inspires me. The precision in his art makes me believe that you can accomplish anything if you keep trying, so I'll work my way up the ladder as time goes by. You can check out the rest of Michael's work on his portfolio here. Warning, some of his images are a little graphic. Cover little eyes!

Web Design Skills

Tommy is the Jack-of-all-Trades that blows my mind into a million little pieces. I love his Japanese style, and adorable chibis. His skills will never fail to stun me! As the next 10 years go by, I'll work the hardest I can to match his skills- with a twist of my own, of course. When I'm building my own sites like his, I'll always remember the one who inspired me to work so hard. You can check out his T-shirt shop and portfolio here.

Self Image/Confidence

I'm insecure in my own way now, but I'm gaining more confidence in myself the more I work. As my grades and skills improve, so will my self image. I think that no matter how hard a person works to achieve their goal, they'll never achieve it if they don't believe in themselves.

I hope to graduate high school with an honors diploma, and (maybe) become valedictorian. After that, I hope to go to MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and graduate from there majoring in a course that has to do with technology (I haven't worked out the details yet.) And finally, I'll get a job as a graphic designer, web designer, or animation artist at Pixar or EA (Electronic Arts.) Over the years, my goal is not to get lower than a 3.5 GPA, and I'll reward myself if I keep my 4.0 GPA up. So as you can see, I have big plans for my future. Wish me luck!

Note: No pictures are mine! All credit to their rightful owners.

That's all for today's post, so have a wonderful day and don't forget to check out the BBK blog! You can find the (all-new) BBK button on my Collaborations page! Thank you!
