How to Make Your Own Social Media Icons

Hello!

This tutorial will be mostly pictures. Enjoy!

Click here for my social network logos. I have included Instagram, Blogger, Google+, and the RSS logo if you have an RSS feed. Don't be alarmed if you see all white, that's how it's supposed to look. Once you open them in Photoshop against a darker background, they'll show up.

Making a GIF with Harri

Hello!

Today, the lovely Harri Wren from Vanilla Craft Blog has prepared a wonderful tutorial on how to make GIFs with Photoshop. The tutorial is up on her blog here has well, so you can learn it on two blogs! Hope you enjoy-

hello everyone
i'm harri from vanilla craft blog and today I'm going to be sharing with you who to make a gif with photoshop
thanks so much lily for letting me post on your blog!!

start by editing all your photos, resizing them to be the same etc...I also recommended saving your photos with 1, 2, 3 etc to make it easier for you

step 1 // open photoshop and create a new document the size of your photos

step 2 // add all the photos onto the document in order (number one at the bottom)

step 4 // open timeline in the window menu and create a video animation, then press in the bottom left corner to change to frame animation

step 5 // with the curling page icon, add the required amount of frames (one per photo)

step 6 // highlight all the frames and change the timing of each changeover. I usually set mine to 0.2 or  0.3 seconds, but try a few options.

step 7 // right now all the frames are the same so we will change it

Click on the first frame on the timeline window. Then in the layers menu click the eye to hide every layer except the first one

step 8 // Do this again by clicking on the second frame and hiding all layers except the second (this is when numbering comes in handy!!)

Do this till you have finished all the photos.

step 9 // change to forever to make your GIF repeat itself over and over

step 10 // To save your gif go File > Save for Web

step 11 // Make sure gif is the optimised file format and save it to wherever you want

Hope you have fun making your own personalised gifs
x harri

Hope you learned something from that, because Harri is truly amazing! As I said at the top, you can check her craft blog out here and the post on her blog here. That's all for now, so have a wonderful day!

The New Buttons

Hello!

I have now updated my social media icons. When you hover over them, they change color! (Imaginary applause..)

I made them in a rush, so I can't make them any bigger. Otherwise, they'd look terrible and pixelated. I will go back and change them, but I don't have the time at the moment.

Thanks for being patient, and enjoy your day.

Freshening Up

 Hello!

Did you notice the new look? (Obviously you did, because it's extremely difficult to miss.) Not only did I update that, but I have included a new "Followers" widget that will allow you to get the latest from Squishingly. And as a plus, I also updated my search bar. It's a lot better now. I was originally just too lazy to edit it, but I finally found the motivation. The little magnifying glass icon was made entirely by me. I might post a tutorial on how to implement it into your blog (or website) but that will be for another day. Since I don't really want to post just a paragraph of text, please enjoy this random picture-

The above picture is a royalty-free stock image, so feel free to use it for anything.

That's all for now, so have a nice day.

Update #3

Hello!

School started yesterday (for me.) I've been really stressed out trying to organize all of my stuff, and now that I've started to settle down, I can finally update my blog a bit! So here's a bit of what you might've missed-
